The Spectra Ranger 3RC has a large touch-screen color display that can be viewed easily in sunlight and is illuminated for ease-of-use even in low lighting. It features a full alphanumeric keypad, which means you can input numbers, letters, or symbols as easily and quickly. This surveying field data collector has a built-in GPS receiver for accurate positional information, a 2.4 GHz radio module for using the device easily with existing Spectra robotic total stations, and a customized 5-megapixel camera with LED flash that includes time and location data from the GPS receiver through Microsoft pictures & videos software. You can also upload and download data using its integrated Wi-Fi or WWAN (Wireless Wide-Area Network) connection, which uses cellphone networks to access the Internet or send text messages. The Bluetooth capability allows cable-free connection with other field instruments and PC.
This powerful surveying instrument comes standard with a high-speed 800 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM for running fast and reliable software applications and 8 GB of onboard memory for storing data. It has an accelerometer that automatically rotates the graphics on the screen based on the device’s angle and an integrated compass that determines accurate direction even while you are standing still. It also provides a high-capacity SD card slot, USB and 9-pin serial communication options for transferring data easily to a PC.
